Every October, I open my calendar for something incredibly close to my heart — free cancer sessions. It’s one of the most meaningful things I do all year.
This isn’t just a photography project for me. It’s personal.
I started offering these sessions because I’ve seen firsthand what cancer can do.
Cancer doesn’t care how young, full of life, or vibrant someone is. It attacks people who still have so much more living to do — people with dreams, families, and laughter left to share.
Seeing that up close made me realize how important it is to capture life while it’s being lived.
These sessions aren’t about perfectly posed portraits. They’re about celebrating strength, survival, and love — whether someone is in remission, still fighting, or honoring a chapter they’ve overcome.
Through these sessions, I’ve had the incredible privilege of meeting some of the most inspiring people I’ve ever photographed — like four sisters who all battled breast cancer.
Spending time with them changed the way I see life, family, and even my work. Their bond, their humor, and their strength reminded me that photos are so much more than pictures — they’re proof of resilience.

For me, these sessions are a way to give something back — a gift that goes beyond the camera. I want people to have something beautiful to hold onto, to remind them of their strength, their journey, and their light.
Everyone deserves to see themselves not as a patient or a survivor, but as the amazing, strong, beautiful person they are.
I can’t cure cancer. But I can capture courage. If a photo helps even one person feel seen, confident, or proud of how far they’ve come, then it’s worth every second.
These October sessions remind me why I started photography in the first place — to tell stories, to freeze emotions, and to give people something they can cherish forever.
If you or someone you love is in remission or has battled cancer, my door is open every October for a free session. It’s my way of honoring those who’ve fought and remembering those who couldn’t.
Because everyone deserves to be celebrated — and everyone deserves beautiful photos that tell their story.
