What Is Celebration Of Life Photography?

During my photography career, it has been a privilege to document  so many important events in the lives of my clients. From wedding photos, to newborn babies, to portraits of growing families - I've always felt that visually preserving these joyous milestones is important work.

The end of life is an important time too, and documenting a loved one during their last chapter can be a beautiful experience. At whatever location is chosen, with whomever cares to participate, some loving memories and images can be created during this type of session.

Telling the stories of your lives through photography is my life's work, and I feel that the end of life deserves the same loving attention.

    How Much Does It Cost?

You pay what you want. Along with the finished images, you will receive a blank invoice, and pay whatever you wish. If you are unable to pay anything, that's OK too.

What I do need from you (and your loved one), is permission to share the images, so that I can show others what a loving and profound experience this can be. Of course, I would respect your wishes if you decide against sharing, at any point.

    What To Expect

Every session is different, depending on many factors.

You can invite others to be there to interact with your loved one, or there can be nobody else there. The main focus is typically on the person who is terminally ill, and other details pertaining to them - such as a vase of flowers on the nightstand, or an old wedding photo of them on the dresser.

The storytelling nature of this kind of session will be more of a documentary nature, and will typically result in almost all black & white images. However, images may be processed using various artistic processes - whatever conveys the story best.

It is my heart's desire to do this type of work, and I would be honored if you allowed me to document your loved one at their life's end.

Why would I book this type of session...it's awkward?

For starters I get it!! Secondly, no one said this had to be at a funeral service. Loosing a loved one is never easy. The grief and emotions can be overwhelming. Honoring a beloved soul through pictures requires a special demeanor. Your loved one deserves to have the celebration of their life documented. It's my honor to create a loving memory of a lost family or friend. Without my creations you forget who was there, some of the and maybe not so fun things that happen. I pull people together families, friends, groups again so you can remember the life of the person that brought you together!
